| Facts Derail Bush’s Iran Plan
He knew that Iran had no nuclear weaponry, yet less than 2 months ago, with all the maturity and seriousness of a 2-year-old, claimed World War 3 was right around the corner because of Iran's non-existent "nucular" armaments. And when exposed as having lied about that, claimed that not only shouldn't he have toned down the lies about Iran, "on the contrary" he said, the NIE report justifies his saber-rattling and immaturity! Bush has neither the intellect nor mental capacity to run a fast-food restaurant, and yet thanks to the rightwing and the Supreme Court, he has occupied the White House for almost 8 years of endless incompetence, malfeasance, massive corruption, and mass-murder (over one million inncocent Iraqis dead, and thousands of dead Americans). Does anyone doubt the same clowns that are defending this latest scandal would also find some reason to defend him if he attacked Iran without provocation or cause despite this latest information? The rightwing has proven to have no loyalty to this country! .
YO, AMIGO! ROMNEY TAPS TANCREDO
It's worth noting that on the eve of the big debate here in New Hampshire, Team Romney rolled out also-ran Tom Tancredo, the hardline Colorado congressman whose entire – albeit pretty brief – presidential campaign was based on one issue: Stopping illegal immigration. The Romney campaign sent out a special reminder to reporters about the news conference, at which Tancredo and law enforcement officials were to “contrast Gov. Romney's record and proposals to end illegal immigration with that of other candidates." It was a direct shot at rival John McCain, who angered a lot of Republicans by advancing an immigration reform plan that some people called an amnesty program: "John McCain is not simply part of the problem. John McCain is the reason we have the problem," sniped Tancredo at the presser, according to a transcript provided by the Romney campaign.
Sunday meet a goer... but we'll struggle to break even, says Tamworth ...
TAMWORTH Jockey Club's Sunday meeting is a "definite goer". Club secretary Mike Rowland said 65 nominations had been received for the TAB meeting and, while the club "might struggle to break even", it would race. "We'll race for sure," Rowland said yesterday. "The noms in a couple of races are a little bit low but we are working on that. "We have extended noms until 11am tomorrow. "But it is well worth our while racing. "There's no doubt the club will struggle to pay for it but we have to keep faith with the owners and trainers and give them some prizemoney to chase. "We're just glad to be racing. Finally out and can have a go." He said nominations on all seven races at Sunday's return meeting have been extended until 11am today in the hope of bolstering some of the smaller fields.
Schumer: Beware of loan scams on stimulus checks
Sen. Charles Schumer warned New Yorkers yesterday to avoid payday loan providers offering to give a cash advance on the $600 stimulus checks taxpayers will receive in June. Schumer (D-N.Y.) said he and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) will send a letter today to payday loan providers, warning them to abide by state laws that cap interest rates. "There are scam artists that are preying on people," he said. "Right now there are identity thieves who will call up and say to you, 'In order to get your refund check we need some information.' No one has to do that. No one from the IRS is making those calls." .
Church warns pagan holiday spells trouble
STOP lying about ancient Paganism and do a compare and contrast, illustrating the positive differences between the Ancient and the Modern.STOP denigrating Christianity, as it was Pagans which did their best to wipe out Christianity-and with a vengeance I must add.The doctrines of Christianity do NOT allow for what you state it does; you are for the most part, children who were raised as secular Christians. Gibbs to close its Boston campus
She still remembers the click of high heels as 20 young women walked from one class to another without saying a word. "I still think in shorthand," she said. "There was a finishing of the edges, but the main mission was to give top-notch business training," she said. She credits much of her career success to her Gibbs education, and said she is sad to see the college go. "It's certainly the end of an era," she said. "But really, the era ended years ago." Great Firewall Of Japan? Japan Proposes Regulating The Internet
In Japan, courts do not enforce claims of slander, libel, or personal threats. People can make up false accusations about you, post your financial and medical records online, post your credit card number, falsified "criminal records" about you, issue death threats, threaten to burn down your house, call your workplace to spread accusations, do whatever they want. (Of course, Techdirt applauds this sort of "freedom" for people to behave however they please.) This behavior takes place most famously on "2ch" servers hosted in California. As for "political dissent" in Japan, if it can be called that, it is all about skinheads who post racial hate and complain that the government is too pro-foreign and pro-global-economy. They are not government agents, they are unemployed lowlives whose only outlet is the computer screen and kiddie porn.

The starting gun sounds for the .ASIA domain landrush

Beginning today, .asia domain names can be registered at the Asia Registry (http://www.asiaregistry.com) Web site, in what ICANN refers to as a "landrush" period. URLs within the new domain will officially launch on Wednesday, March 26. .
